Solid Sales Marketing Inc is an independent manufacturers' representative based in Ridgewood, New Jersey. We act as the outside sales arm for industrial manufacturers — carrying their line into distribution channels and export markets they have no practical way to reach on their own.
Who we are
Solid Sales Marketing Inc is an independent manufacturers' representative and export sales agency in Ridgewood, New Jersey. We represent industrial manufacturers in territories and channels where they have no direct presence — finding distributors, opening accounts and managing the relationships that follow.
The economics of this arrangement are worth stating plainly, because they explain everything else about how we work. A rep firm is generally compensated on what it sells. No sales, no income. That aligns our interest with yours far more tightly than a salaried territory manager whose paycheque arrives regardless.
It also means we are selective. We take on lines we believe we can actually move through the channels we already know, and we turn down products where we would be guessing. A rep firm that says yes to everything is not a rep firm — it is a mailing list.
We only get paid when your product moves. That is the entire model.

What we do
Representation is not simply making introductions. These are the pieces that actually turn a product line into recurring orders.
We carry your line into our territory as your outside sales force — presenting the product, quoting, and closing under your terms.
Identifying and signing the distributors who will actually stock and push a line, rather than list it in a catalogue and forget it.
Taking domestic manufacturers into overseas markets — locating buyers, handling the commercial side, and coordinating shipment documentation.
An honest read on whether a territory or channel will take a product before anyone spends money finding out the expensive way.
The unglamorous part: follow-up, reorder cycles, complaints and pricing conversations that keep an account alive after the first order.
Working the other direction as well — locating qualified suppliers for buyers with a specification and a genuine requirement.
Export
Not because there is no demand abroad, but because the first export order looks like an enormous amount of unfamiliar work for one uncertain customer. Documentation, payment terms, freight, a buyer nobody has met. So it never gets started.
Working through a representative removes most of that first barrier. We handle the commercial end and coordinate the paperwork; the manufacturer ships a product, much as they would domestically.
There's a difference between someone asking for a price and someone who orders
The commercial structure matters more on a first international order than the price does

How it works
What the product is, who buys it, what it competes against, and where you already sell.
An honest assessment of whether our channels fit — including when the answer is no.
Territory, lines, commission and terms set out in writing before any calls are made.
Calling, quoting, closing and then holding the accounts together over the long term.
Client feedback
We'd tried hiring a regional salesman twice and burned two years on it. A rep firm that already knew the distributors got us further in six months than either hire managed — and cost us nothing until product actually moved.
They turned down one of our product lines outright and explained that their channels wouldn't carry it. Nobody had ever declined our business before. It made me trust everything they said about the line they did take on.
Our first export order was something we'd talked about for years and never started, because the paperwork looked impossible from the inside. They handled the commercial side and we simply shipped. It's routine for us now.
